Summit Murder Mystery Series

There is a point on each of the world’s seven continents higher than any other. Remote, often highly inaccessible, they are the crown jewels of climbing. Among these seven are the world’s deadliest mountains. On Everest alone more than 200 bodies lay near the summit where they fell, unrecovered and unburied. Deaths from falls, avalanches, illness, heart attacks and high altitude sickness are a part of each climbing season atop these mountains. Every climber goes by choice, knowing the danger. To climb all seven of these mountains is considered one of the greatest athletic achievements attainable.

The Summit Murder Mystery series was inspired by the 1987 Everest attempt by co-author Charles G. Irion. Each is an exciting murder mystery set against the climb of one of the Seven Summits. The authors invite you to begin your adventure today with Murder on Everest. Unlike any mystery ever previously written, you will actually feel yourself atop Everest in the midst of a violent blizzard. You’ll read what its like to climb with one-third the usual oxygen, to fight illness and fatigue. You will experience the thrill of the climb, the terror of every step in the Death Zone.

Who will be murdered? How? And why? The answers will astound you.

Reviews

"A riveting mystery replete with sex and betrayal. Collaborative written by the team of Charles G. Irion and Ronald L. Watkins, "Murder On Everest" begins with the death of Derek Sodoc on the slopes of Mt. Everest. The question arises as to whether the son of a wealthy and powerful man was accidental -- or intentional. A riveting mystery replete with sex and betrayal, "Murder On Everest" is highly recommended reading is the first of Irion and Watkins' proposed "Summit Murder Series" of murder mysteries, each of which will take place on one of the world's highest mountains on the seven continents."

"Murder on Everest takes over where Abandoned on Everest leaves off.  The story is nicely worked out with many (but long) back stories on the characters.  I'm sure that many climbing enthusiasts out there will really love this book as the descriptions of the climb are very realistic and very dangerous.  I know that I wouldn't want to do it and have to admire people who do.  By all accounts this mountain doesn't want to be conquered and does everything it can to get rid of people who try. Some of the characters were very good because you could really feel instant dislike for them and the story was a good one. Good luck to the authors with the Summit Series."  --  Mary Lignor, Book Reviewer - BookPleasures.com

"
Murder on Everest is an exciting murder mystery, featuring not just the usual dangers of mountaineering but those brought by man as well. Power, greed and envy all abound in a delightful mix of intrigue set in a fascinating and little known locale. The first of a new series it is a great read and I highly recommend it."  -- Mike Hamilburg, Literary Agent

"I found this book to actually be a great read! It wasn't anything like I expected. There is plenty of suspense and drama and the writing is nicely detailed without going overboard.  The characters were interesting and it kept my interest all through the book.  The author seemed very knowledgeable of  mountain climbing. I actually understood what he was trying to explain." --  Amy J, Book Reviewer, My Overstuffed Bookshelf
